In 1616, the parish priest of Saint Agatha church came to the presbytery for protection from the civil wars and gangs of bandits.
The presbytery was built in 1777 on the site of the old presbytery, which was next to the vicarage of Saint Agatha.
The church of Saint Agatha's parish was situated on the other side of Saint Agatha's rivulet. It was demolished during the Revolution, and only the nave's arcades still stand and can be seen in winter from the castle's terrace.
It was sold in 1792 to Sir Delagranche, knight of Saint Louis, former light horse guard of King Louis XVI; then in 1803 to Mr Heronville, veterinary; then in 1856 to Mr Nasson, a former notary.
Since 1881 and for a century, it had been the property of the family of Dr. Gustave Chopinet, a former mayor of Crépy and member of parliament (1847-1918).
